37 Weeks - FULL TERM

We've made it. As of today we are officially considered full term. Should she choose to arrive, no one would do a darn thing to stop her (least of all - ME). Granted, it could still be another month before she decides she's ready, we're just going to kick back and hope she's feels motivated sooner, rather than later.

This past week was full of awesomeness. I intended to keep you posted on the shenanigans as they took place, but we were just too busy!

This week my boss was in town (Hi KM!) and I love it when she's here. This time, she even threw me a baby shower. I have to start by saying, I could not work with a greater group of women. You would think a couple dozen women in a confined space would spell disaster - as it typically does - but no. They're smart, talented, strong, awesome people. And to have such an great group be so excited for our little family, just means all that much more to us. I would have felt over the moon and spoiled with cake and quality time, but no - they wouldn't stand for that. We got SPOILED.

I mean it - from adorable clothes, helpful mom-approved products, toys, diapers, etc. Also, you may or may not have heard me talk about THE curtains. They're from Anthropologie (one of my favorite stores ever) and were the perfect shade of coral - which I'm sure you can imagine is hard to find. Basically they were the curtains all other curtains were compared to - unfortunately just curtains that lived not in our budget! My lovely ladies pitched in and saw to it that Lily's room not be decked out in less:

How awesome is that?

Thursday was our 4th wedding anniversary. We played it pretty low-key that day, but had a great dinner with friends. Friday was the 11th anniversary of our first date! We also had a doctors appointment and an ultrasound to see Miss Lily. Doc had great things to say about her and I - both healthy! He took some measurements, checked her out, and estimates that right now she is about 6 1/3 pounds. Gaining approximately 1/3 of a pound each week from here on out - we're looking at about a 7 1/2 pound baby - give or take. Perfect! (I mean really, were we expecting any less??)

Saturday brought another day of fun - my best girlfriends threw me a shower at the park. You would not believe the decor:

GORGEOUS!
It was great to spend time with my girlfriends and see how much they already love our daughter. We couldn't possibly be any luckier. They too saw fit to spoil her - more diapers, great books, cute clothes, and delicious baby smelling bath products. Even some handmade items - a cozy blanket and this gorgeous matching set for Lily and I:

Hand painted by the talented Chelsi (Chelsi Lees Designs - FB - Etsy). I cannot be the only one that is crazy jealous of her artistic skills.

Saturday afternoon Jeremy and I left for Semiahmoo for the night. We had a great dinner, relaxed overlooking the water, and even spent time floating in the pool. Floating may be my new favorite past time - such relief! Sunday morning we really topped things off and got massages before heading home. It was an amazing little escape before Lily joins us. We couldn't have asked for better quality time together.

It may have been one of the greatest weeks of my life. So much fun, love, and quality time with some of my favorite people.

Folks, I think we're officially ready. C'mon baby girl!

Whistler!

I cannot believe I never posted this. Sorry!

We spent a beautiful 5 nights in Whistler. Neither of us have ever been and our first trip can only be described as wonderful! We stayed in a gorgeous condo just outside of the village. Three stories, 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, gourmet kitchen, hot tub, etc, etc. We were the first guests to EVER stay there! There were certainly a few kinks (i.e. the in-wall espresso maker wasn't hooked up yet), but they more than made up for it with our additional 10% refund. Score!

Mark is a tremendously amazing cook. We ate like kings the entire trip. He warns us that we'll just do snacks and nothing major for Tuesday nights dinner and what does he come up with? Toasted baguette with sauteed peppers and onions, prosciutto wrapped mangos, shrimp and homemade cocktail sauce, and of course, fresh brie. Are you drooling yet? Because it gets better. The next nights included baked mostacholi (aka the best dinner ever after a long hard day on the slopes), salmon with risotto and artichokes, ribs, and the most delicious filet wrapped in bacon. SO yummy! We had starters like fresh tossed salad with homemade raspberry vinaigrette and sweet potato soup with shrimp. It was a great trip and I haven't even mentioned anything outside of the condo yet!

Don't even get me started on the wine. Just don't.

The mountains, both Blackcomb and Whistler, are beautiful. There are more runs on those two mountains than I have ever seen. In the three days we spent on the hill, we couldn't possibly see them all. There are a number of lodges on the mountains too, that was really cool. You don't have to go all the way to the bottom for lunch. Some are larger, like the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler mountain, and others are tiny chalets sprinkled all over both mountains. We were lucky enough to have fresh snow 2 of the 3 days. We both did great! Jeremy is definitely more adventurous than me, but I still managed to push a limit... or 12. The coolest part? You can take lifts to the peaks of both mountains! You cannot believe the amazing view from the top. I've heard it explained to me and words do not do it justice. You're just going to have to take the ride and discover it for yourself.

The village is really fun too (a little pricey though...). Lots of restaurants and little shops. Next time we go we'd love to stay in the village where all the action is.

We had a great time. It was a week filled with great company, delicious food, fresh air, a scenery to die for. I cannot wait to go back.

Just in case you missed the photos on Sweetpea's Snapshots.

Cabin in the Woods

We spent the 4day weekend at a cabin in the woods.

Friday we took our time crossing the mountain. We stopped at Twede's in North Bend. This is the restaurant featured in the TV show Twin Peaks. We had tasty burgers and picked up a cherry pie for the cabin. After a short grocery trip (we always buy too much food!) we were back on I-90 heading east.

The cabin was in Ronald, WA just outside of Roslyn (Anyone seen Northern Exposure? It was shot here). It was gorgeous! Log furniture, stone fireplaces, the works!

We spent Saturday romping in the snow. The sledding hill was right across the culdesac! We spent hours inner tubing, riding the quad and snowmobile, and playing with the dogs in the snow. We wore ourselves, and the dogs, out.

Sunday was for relaxation. After a huge and delicious breakfast we lounged for most of the morning. Watching TV and playing Wii. The girls went into Roslyn for the afternoon. We visited a cute small art gallery, took pictures, and had a beer at The Brick. The Brick is Washington's first bar! It was a neat old place. The town is small, but it has a deep history. It was fun to do a little exploring.

Monday morning came too fast. Before we knew it we were packing up and hitting the road for the long (2hr) drive home. We are rested, and worn out, in the best way. It was an excellent way to spend a long weekend.

Oklahoma 2009

We're back from our annual visit to Oklahoma. It was a fun and relaxing weekend. Basically we caught up with family and ate, ate, ate. This weekend we visited all the restaurants we don't have at home, we went to Broken Arrow and saw the former Scott Residence and elementary school (annual tradition), and Saturday we spent out at Tenkiller Lake in a cabin and we celebrated Scotty's birthday! Our Anniversary Weekend

We had such a great time! Neither of us can believe it has been a year since our wedding day. Boy time flies. A weekend away was the best gift we could have given ourselves.

Friday morning we left for our weekend in Port Ludlow. It is a quiet blink-and-you'll-miss-it town just a short ferry ride away from us. We stayed at the Port Ludlow Inn and loved it. The Inn is a really small hotel (37 rooms I believe) and it has great views, pretty and cozy rooms, and a nice restaurant in the lobby.

We spent the weekend relaxing, walking on the beach looking at sea creatures (we even saw an otter before we came home on Sunday - SO cute!), visiting Ft. Flagler, kayaking, eating delicious food, reading, etc. The tv didn't come on one time - it was marvelous.

If you have the opportunity to get away for a quiet weekend, we highly recommend the Inn. It was just what we needed!

Just a few pictures from the trip. Email me if you want the link to the rest. I took TONS, but then again, don't I always?!

Because it is fun to remember what we were doing a year ago today, I will leave you with my all time favorite wedding picture:

Our weekend in Idaho

As promised, here is our Idaho recap...
*edited to add pictures!
We decided a few weeks back to take a long weekend and head to Idaho to visit one of my best friends Cami, and her family. Before leaving we were a bit nervous about the road conditions. A few times over the past couple weeks the mountain passes have been hit with these huge dumpings of snow (especially huge considering it is almost April...). We were over prepared with chains, emergency kit, radios, extra food/water, etc. We got very lucky and didn't have to deal with a bit of it. Both on the drive over on Friday, and home on Monday, the roads were dry or bare/wet. Thank goodness for that!
We had such a good time over there. There was no agenda. We hung out at their new house, played games and watched movies, spent time on the farm, and most importantly we played with baby Lexie. Over the past year Cami and I have been able to get together on 5 different occasions. I don't think we've been able to do that since high school! She is one of my oldest friends and it was great to spend some quality time with such good friends. I miss them already.
Jeremy and Jordan spent most of our first night playing Guitar Hero and trying to be rock stars. Those two with a couple beers and a plastic guitar are hilarious. Though it would probably be wise of the two of them to keep their day jobs... :)

Lexie. I could write for days about Lexie. She is approximately 2 feet of 15 month old adorableness. She is such a good baby. I have been playing with my new fancy camera for a few months now and I got plenty of practice on her this weekend. I probably took almost 150 pictures... I just couldn't stop! Her little grin just melts your heart. She is beautiful, happy and so smart. Cami and Jordan are expecting again and I cannot wait for October!
We tried to go up and do a little snowboarding Sunday morning, but that didn't really work out as planned. With 50+ mph wind (this is just a guess by the way, it was blowing so hard I could hardly open the car door or stand up straight...), and blowing snow; the visability was awful. It was hard to see the road in front of the car. We tried to turn around and ended up slidding off the road and getting stuck (we did pick the right side of the road to slide off though - the other side was a cliff). After about 25minutes of digging a plow came along and so kindly pulled us out. There's a first time for everything! No damage to the car, no one got hurt - it was just a crazy adventure!
The 11 hour drive was definitely worth the visit. We're already starting to talk about our next get together. Besides, an 11 hour drive isn't so bad when you can stop for Sonic along the way... :)

Note: Thanks for the tip Holly! The Sonic Sunrise is de-LISH!

Honeymoon

July 21-30, 2008
Jeremy and I enjoyed 10 days in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. We stayed in Hotel Brisas Del Mar. We snorkeled, went sailing, swam with the dolphins, took a sunset cruise and spent a lot of time by the pool! We did get a bit sick (not sure if it was water or food) towards the end of our trip, but nothing that was incapacitating or kept us from exploring.

The view from our room...

Some friends we made during our exploring...

Sailing and Snorkeling...

sunset cruise - the little man made me do it...
