16 Weeks

I am feeling really great starting my 16th week! This week I've seen some of my food aversions mellow out, which meant I have happily welcomed chicken back into my life. We are tired of eating junk and ready to get back to our (mostly) healthy habits.

The babe is about 4 1/2 inches long (crown to rump), weighs in at about 3.5oz, and is about the size of an avocado. This week our babe's eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair are filing in. But my favorite highlight - the tiny bones are forming in the baby's ears. This means that he/she can now pick up our voices!

They also say that it can be anytime now that I will first feel the baby move. A girlfriend of mine said that she felt her daughter in her 16th week! Now, I'll just have to see if I can tell the difference between this kiddo and gas. :)

I really feel like I am starting to round out a bit. It's still subtle, but the bump is getting there!

I thought I'd throw in a bonus goofy one, just for fun!

I must say, maternity pants are a truly fine invention. That is, when you're not hiking them up every 5 minutes. You may notice I'm in front of a beautiful blank wall this week... That's because Jeremy so lovingly disassembled and removed the bed that used to be in the room we will be turning into a nursery! The room is now almost empty and we'll be ready to start putting it back together. My weekly photos will now feature a bit of the progress!

We spent time with a lot of friends this weekend and are so very grateful that this baby is already so well loved. We are so fortune and we appreciate all of your support and well wishes. It means to world to the three of us!

Boy or Girl?

Everyone seems to have a strong opinion on the gender of this wee babe we're baking - so share it!

There is a shiny new poll in the menu on the right.

Go ahead, take a peek, you see it?

Now, cast your vote!

I've been keeping of the Old Wives Tales and such. Stay tuned and I will share some results with you over the next couple weeks!

15 Weeks

Not a lot is new this week, but I did want to share an updated photo of The Bump!

The babe is the size of an apple this week! Just over 4 inches long. Our wee one can now start to sense light and will even avoid the light if a beam is placed on my belly. Only a couple more weeks and we get another peek at the kiddo!

14 Weeks!

Today we are 14 weeks! Officially into our second trimester, I am really starting to feel better. Still suffering a bit with some residual coughing from the pneumonia that hit our house a couple weeks ago, I managed to cough a rib out of place! I'm seeing a chiropractor and am on the mend.

We're continuing to work on our extra bedrooms to rid ourselves of the extra stuff we've been hording and start clearing out the nursery! It feels great to be making some progress around the house.

The babe is the size of a lemon this week. About 3 1/2 inches long, the babe can now make facial expressions and even suck his/her thumb! It's a little crazy to think about the baby smiling or frowning.

This week is also one of note, because it is when I first started showing! Not a big bump and in most clothes people wouldn't look twice, but check out that little belly. Jeremy keeps asking if I'm sticking it out, but I promise I'm standing up straight!

This time, we're at it for real!

That's right, folks, we're having a baby! Baby Scott is scheduled to arrive in mid-August 2012. You'll have to stay tuned as we update the blog with our pregnancy adventures. Boy do we have a lot to learn!
