Holy fresh powder batman! Jeremy, Erik and I arrived at Mt. Baker yesterday at approx. 9:30am. It was just barely snowing at the time, but they'd received 11inches the night before and 5 inches the previous day. Not long after we'd arrived the snow showed back up with a furry! At times (especially at the top of the lift) we could hardly see a thing it was coming down so hard.
We've never been up in powder like this, it was AMAZING. We got in a ton of runs and even some out of bounds adventuring (part of that particular adventure will explain my sore neck, but that's not important...).
When we got back to the car, sore, tired and happy, we found that while we were there it had snowed probably another 4 inches. It was pretty windy and hard to tell the exact accumulation.
All in all - a GREAT trip up to the mountains. Now, will you pass the heating pad?
Welcome! Here you will find a chronicle of our adventures. I hope that you enjoy reading about our crazy escapades because we sure enjoy having them and bringing them here to share with you!

Best Day of Work in a Long Time
Yesterday I spent the entire morning/afternoon downtown at a lecture. The lecture was being done by Bruce Tulgan (internationally recognized as the expert on the multigenerational workforce). There is nothing quite like starting the day with a nice walk downtown and a latte and croissant from my favorite french cafe (Le Panier at Pike Place), that I enjoyed while looking out at the Sound and the ferries. Of which was followed by an intellectually stimulating lecture (whos topic I believe will help address some of my current frustrations in 'Corporate America'), and lunch on the sunny steps of SAM (Seattle Art Museum). What a phenomenal day. I haven't felt that relaxed and happy during a days-work in a LONG time. LOVED IT.
(Oh, and if you are so inclined, you should really check out a couple of his books - Not Everyone Gets a Trophy, and It's Okay to be the Boss are two I find very valuable)

...and again.
That's right - snow again. We woke up this morning to about 1 1/2'' - 2'' of the stuff. Hey, it's a good excuse to curl up and have a relaxing Sunday morning, right? Right.
**Edited Monday, March 9th 4:20pm**
Apparently I posted a couple days too soon because we had almost 6 inches today!

Snow... again!?
Okay, I'm a lover of all things snowy, don't get me wrong. But, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE IT STOP. The trouble is that I'm at work and when it snows, everyone and their mother decides to hibernate and not come in to the office. Which then equals more work for me. It is days like this that I wish I was 8 years old again, so that I could have a snow day to go and play with my friends...

Bye-Bye Wedding Debt
Jeremy and I are of the very fortunate few that started our marriage with little-to-no debt (mortgages don't count!!). The only thing we had to charge throughout our whole event was a few last minute items and the hotel from our honeymoon. We got our tax return back last week and our credit card is officially PAID OFF. We were even able to pay off one of Jeremy's two student loans. The only debt we're looking at now is the new car!
I am excited to be able to put money back into savings again. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that nothing comes up and it get's to stay that way - mmkay?
YAY for us!

Mommies with Cents
Okay, first and foremost - don't let the title fool you. No, I'm not a mom (unless you count my fur-child Harley Ray)!
Mommies with Cents is a website started by a couple of cool ladies. One of which happens to be one of my favorite people - Holly. Their site provides all kinds of information for people (obviously their focus is on mom's) that are budget conscious. Every day there are new updates for big sales, discounts, budget friendly recipes, etc etc etc. One of their recent updates is to win a handbag! I know, you are all shocked that I would need another bag, right?? Shh! I'm hoping Jeremy doesn't read this and call Holly! :)
Take a minute and scope them out - I promise it's worth it!

Mt. Baker
We made our second trek up to the mountains yesterday. This time we went north and hit up my favorite spot - Mt. Baker! It was BEAUTIFUL day on the hill. There was fresh snow, in the afternoon the sun was shining, and we did great! We got in at least twice as many runs as we did at Stevens in January. I am feeling a lot better about my snowboarding skills and Jeremy is getting really good! There is nothing like snowboarding on a weekday in fresh snow. No crowds, no lines, no sharing a chair... pure bliss! I promise to take the camera up with us next time to get us in action!
